Taiyo Electric Ind. Co., Ltd. celebrated its 60th anniversary on April 30, 2025.
We thank everyone who has supported us over the years.

We will continue to introduce products and technologies, from hand tools to robots,
while supporting manufacturing around the world as the World's No.1 Soldering Company.

  • 1965

    Taiyo Electric Ind. Co., Ltd. is established.

    April 1965
    Begins manufacturing and selling electric soldering irons and related products in Kusado-cho, Fukuyama, Hiroshima.

  • 1965s

    Releases cast-in soldering iron.

    A revolutionary product with a heater cast in aluminum, more durable and ready-to-use than existing conventional products.
    Its superior quality earned the company a reputation for long-lasting and high-quality manufacture.

    CAST ALUMINUM HEATER SOLDERING IRONS TC/TCL Series

    Releases pistol-type quick-heat soldering iron.

    This could be used immediately. You just plugged it in, and turned the temperature to High or Low. This was the pattern of subsequent soldering irons.

  • 1972

    Head office and factory relocate to Yamate, Fukuyama.

  • 1976

    Business Divisions 1 and 2 are established.

  • 1980s

    Release of KS series soldering irons.

    KS series is launched. It becomes a long-selling product, found in schools and home centres, and is known as 'the light-blue soldering iron.’

    The original KS-30R (left) and the current KS-30R (right). The grip design is improved, but the model is basically unchanged and is still sold today.
  • 1981

    Third Factory (now the head office) is completed.

  • 1982

    Quick-heat soldering iron TQ series TQ-60/70/80/85. The heating power can be switched in two steps. Like the KS series, this is a best-selling product that is still in production today.

  • 1986

    Release of PX-1 TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SOLDERING STATION.

    The temperature was changed by moving the slide lever. A three-color graphic LED indicated tip temperature every 25°C increments. The station, stand, and sponge were integrated.

  • 1987
    FIXED-TEMPERATURE SOLDERING IRONS PX-2 Series

  • 1988

    Third Factory (now the head office) is expanded.

    Division 1 is spun off.

    May 1989
    Division 1 is established as an independent company, Division 2 taking over its business. Head office registered at 2-30 Yamate, Fukuyama, Hiroshima.

    Completion of Head office distribution center.

    October 1989
    The new distribution center is built. Its bright red sign can be seen from the Sanyo Shinkansen.

    Tip processing plant is completed; production of soldering tips begins.

    We have become the world's only soldering iron manufacturer that produces a wide range of tips in our own factory. Thus we can provide custom-made products to meet our customer's needs through High-Mix Low-Volume production.

    A ceramic heater with a built-in sensor that accurately controls tip temperature.

    RX-802AS TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED LEAD-FREE SOLDERING STATION

    Designed to have the fastest temperature rise in its class, a large heat capacity, and excellent heat recovery. Would become a product series. The sliding, tool-less tip changing method is still in use.

  • 2007

    The long-awaited high-power type with a 150W heater.

    This new high-power model with astonishing thermal recovery is added to the lineup of station-type temperature-controlled soldering irons compatible with lead-free solder.

    July: Shenzhen, China repesentative office is opened.
